Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal College and Yuzhou Education College, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In May 2001, the two schools merged to form Yuxi College.
