Ruan Xinbo is a doctoral supervisor of the School of Automation in our school. He has presided over nearly 40 scientific research projects and won many provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards and provincial and ministerial-level honorary titles. It is also the training object of the "Blue Project" of colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province and the "333 New Century Science and Technology Leading Talents Training Project" in Jiangsu Province. Ruan Xinbo, 1970, was born in the old district of Hubei. 1987 was admitted to the department of automatic control of the School of Automation of our school in July, and completed the study of electrical technology, obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering, and was recommended to study for a master's degree without examination. Because of his excellent grades, he was also recommended to study for a doctorate, without having to take the exam one year in advance. June1996-June 1998 Engaged in postdoctoral research in our university's space postdoctoral mobile station.

In 2002, he was awarded the title of professor. Since 2003, he has served as deputy director of the key laboratory of aviation power supply in our school, vice chairman of China Power Supply Society, director of DC power supply professional committee of China Power Supply Society, deputy director of academic committee of China Power Supply Society, organizing member of Beijing Branch of IEEE Power Electronics Society, deputy director of youth working committee of China Aviation Society, and member of aviation electrical professional committee of China Aviation Society. He is the editorial board of Journal of Electrical Technology, the executive deputy director of the editorial board of Journal of Electric Power Technology, and a senior member of IEEE.

Ruan Xinbo has been engaged in teaching and research of power electronics and power transmission for 14 years, and his research fields involve high-power DC-DC converter, low-voltage high-current DC-DC converter, soft-switching DC- AC inverter and power factor correction technology. There are rich research achievements in power electronic system integration and new energy power generation system, many of which belong to the forefront of this field and promote the innovative development of power electronics. Most of the achievements have important engineering practical significance, so they have also made remarkable contributions to promoting the development of the national economy.

"28.5V/ 100A high-frequency soft-switching power transformer rectifier" passed the ministerial appraisal organized by aviation industry corporation of china and won the first prize of national defense science and technology progress in Jiangsu Province. A variety of products such as switching power supply for communication, power operation power supply and electroplating power supply have been developed, and good social and economic benefits have been achieved. In addition, he also obtained five China invention patents and 1 China utility model patents.

In order to enliven the academic atmosphere, improve the level of academic research, and expand exchanges and cooperation with universities, research institutions and industries at home and abroad, he founded the "Annual Conference on Power Electronics and Motion Control" in 2000, which has been successfully held for seven times. He invited experts in the field of power electronics at home and abroad and world-renowned companies to visit China Southern Airlines. Through the visit, famous companies at home and abroad learned about China Southern Airlines and improved its popularity. Nearly 10 companies set up special scholarships in China Southern Airlines to reward doctoral students, master students and undergraduates who have made outstanding achievements in the study and research of power electronics and power transmission. The establishment of scholarships not only stimulates students' enthusiasm for learning and scientific research, but also attracts a large number of outstanding students to apply for master's and doctor's degrees in power electronics and electric drive of China Southern Airlines. At the same time, a large number of companies recruit master's and doctoral graduates in China Southern Airlines every year, and the employment situation of students is very good.
