The major of "Power Electronic Equipment and System" mainly studies the theory and technology of power electronic equipment operation and control in industrial high-voltage system. With the extensive development of renewable energy, the development of power industry and its downstream industries puts forward new requirements for power electronic devices and systems. The power electronic technology formed by the integration of power electronic technology (strong current and weak current technology) will have a great impact on the operation of power system and the development of national economy in the future. The realization of these new requirements and the application of power electronics technology urgently need the on-the-job graduate technical personnel trained in this major to be in Guizhou.

This major mainly has three research directions: safe operation and fault diagnosis of power electronic equipment, application of power electronic technology in power system, and operation and control of transmission system. The main research contents are fault diagnosis and reliability of power electronic equipment, flexible AC transmission technology (FACTS), hvdc light technology (LHVdc), multi-terminal DC transmission technology (MTDC), static var compensator (SVC), static var generator (SVG), electric drive control, etc.

1, Safe Operation and Fault Diagnosis of Power Electronic Equipment

With the popularization of power electronic equipment, the fault diagnosis and reliability research of power electronic equipment has become an important topic to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system where these equipment are located. The fault diagnosis of power electronic circuits is different from that of general analog circuits and digital circuits. Because of the small overload capacity and fast damage speed of power electronic devices, their fault information only exists in tens of milliseconds before the fault occurs. The power of power electronic circuit has reached several thousand kilowatts, and the methods of changing input, observation and output used in analog circuit and digital circuit diagnosis are no longer applicable. In this direction, the fault diagnosis technology of power electronic equipment is studied. 3. Operation and control of electric drive system

This paper studies the theory and technology of operation and control of electric drive system by means of power electronics technology. It involves frequency conversion technology, frequency converter technology, servo system driving and control technology and so on. Based on the embedded system as the control platform, the advanced control algorithm is studied and applied to solve the operation and control problems of the electric drive system, and various new power driving and power conversion technologies with high-power power electronic devices as the core are studied. In this research direction, the academic team has carried out a lot of scientific research work, undertaken a number of national natural science foundation and provincial-level fund projects, won a number of provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards, and achieved many application results in high-precision servo system, variable frequency speed regulation technology, multi-motor synchronous drive control and so on.
