China has major petrochemical technologies with independent intellectual property rights, right?

That's right. Recently, the high-yield olefin catalytic cracking technology independently developed by China Petrochemical Company won the best petrochemical technology award in 202 1 of American Hydrocarbon Processing magazine. This is the first time that China Petrochemical Technology has won this international award, which indicates that this technology has been highly concerned and fully recognized by peers in the global petrochemical field, and it is of positive significance for the transformation and upgrading of China petrochemical industry and helping to achieve the goal of "double carbon".

The Best Petrochemical Technology Award is an award established by Hydrocarbon Processing, the most important professional core journal in the global petroleum refining and chemical industry. Once a year, it is one of the most influential awards in the industry. The award-winning high-yield olefin catalytic cracking technology was jointly developed by Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute and China Petrochemical Engineering Construction Company. It is a new process for producing high-value chemicals such as ethylene and propylene, which can efficiently convert low-value olefin by-products in petroleum refining, coal chemical and other production processes, thus greatly increasing the output of high-value chemicals such as ethylene and propylene, and at the same time greatly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

For every 6,543,800 tons of low-value olefins processed by this technology, 8,654,380 tons of high-value chemicals such as ethylene and propylene can be produced. The overall technology is at the leading level in the world and has great economic value. In 2009, high-yield olefin catalytic cracking technology achieved its first industrial application in China in Zhongyuan Petrochemical Company. At present, industrialization has been realized in four enterprises, and 82 national invention patents and 2 American invention patents have been obtained.

China Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute is one of the earliest comprehensive scientific research institutions engaged in petrochemical technology research and development in China. 1960, in order to solve the problem of people's clothing, Shanghai Minhang Conference decided to set up Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute (the predecessor of Shanghai Institute) to undertake the research task of acrylonitrile catalytic technology. 1984 Shanghai Institute of Petrochemical Technology became a scientific research unit directly under sinopec group, and 1990 officially changed its name to Shanghai Institute of Petrochemical Technology.

After more than 60 years of construction and development, Shanghai Institute has become a comprehensive research and development institution with strong scientific research strength and complete equipment and facilities, and is an important petrochemical research and development base of China Petrochemical. There are two bases for scientific research, innovation and engineering research in Shanghai Pudong New Area and Shanghai Chemical Industry, Jinshan Branch in Shanghai Petrochemical Zone, and five branches in China Petrochemical, Tianjin Petrochemical, Yizheng Chemical Fiber, Chuanwei Chemical and Baling Petrochemical, in charge of 1 China Petrochemical. At present, Shanghai Institute has national R&D bases such as National Engineering Research Center for Basic Organic Raw Material Catalysts and State Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Industry and Industrial Catalysis, as well as two R&D joint centers such as China Petrochemical Synthetic Fiber Processing and Application Center, China Petrochemical High-end Fine Chemicals and Photoelectric Materials, and six key laboratories such as China Petrochemical Methanol Conversion Technology, Ternary Surfactants, Aromatics Technology, Carbon Fiber and Its Composites, High-end Fine Chemicals and Hydrogen Energy Technology. It is the supporting unit of the Petrochemical Sub-technical Committee of the National Chemical Standardization Technical Committee and owns the country.

Over the past 60 years, Shanghai Institute has always been committed to promoting the technological progress of China's petrochemical industry, serving the development of enterprises, vigorously promoting technological innovation and achievement transformation in the fields of organic raw materials (olefins, aromatics and their bulk derivatives), carbon-1 chemical industry, synthetic materials, oil and gas additives, fine chemicals, etc., and forming a technological innovation system featuring petrochemical catalysts and complete sets of technologies. The research field covers the main technologies of the current petrochemical and coal chemical industry chain, and has become an important technical support force for the development of China's petrochemical industry. A large number of catalysts and complete sets of technologies with independent intellectual property rights in China, such as acrylonitrile, toluene disproportionation, styrene, vinyl acetate, ethylene oxide, purified terephthalic acid, ethylbenzene, cumene, pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, methanol to olefins and synthesis gas to ethylene glycol, as well as a series of product technologies such as aromatic nitriles, surfactants, green polyester, high-performance fibers and degradable materials, have been successfully applied in petrochemical plants at home and abroad, maintaining the international leading or advanced level. Products and technologies such as toluene disproportionation technology and catalyst, ethylbenzene/styrene catalyst, divinylbenzene catalyst, oxidative dehydrogenation catalyst and multi-metal polyether catalyst have been exported to Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Middle East and North America. In recent years, Shanghai Institute has adhered to the innovation-driven strategy, actively expanded the research and development fields of new energy, new materials and high-end products, and jointly promoted basic research and applied basic research. The newly developed molecular sieves SCM- 14 and SCM- 15 have been awarded the structural codes SOR and SOV by the International Molecular Sieve Association, which has achieved a zero breakthrough in this field in China enterprises, strengthened the technical research in the field of high-performance materials and new energy technologies, and met the major needs of the country. A total of more than 3 10 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards were won, including the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award 1 item, 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes 1 item, 5 second prizes for national technological inventions, 5 gold prizes for China patents and 1 silver prize1item.
