IE is a web browser launched by Microsoft. As of September 20 10, statistics show that the share of IE is as high as 59.65%. Although it is still the most widely used web browser, its market share is declining year by year compared with the peak in 2003. On the old Windows operating system, it was independent and free. Starting with Windows 95OSR2, it is the default browser attached to all new versions of Windows operating systems. InternetExplorer was originally a product derived from SpyglassMosaic, an early commercial patent web browser. 1996, Microsoft obtained the authorization from Spyglass mosaic by giving quarterly fees and part of its income. Although the name of Spyglass Mosaic is similar to NCSAMosaic (the first most widely used web browser), Spyglass Mosaic is relatively unknown and uses a small amount of source code of NCSAMosaic. Although IE has lost some market share since 2004, InternetExplorer is still the most widely used web browser. In April 2005, its market share was about 85%. In 2007, its market share was 78%. Its competitors are mainly Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and so on. InternetExplorer is an indispensable part of Microsoft's new Windows operating system. On the old operating system, it was independent and free. Starting with Windows 95 OSR2, it has a browser attached to all new versions of the Windows operating system. However, the major updates between 2004 and 2005 only apply to Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP 1. Initially, Microsoft planned to release InternetExplorer 7.0 together with the next version of Windows VISTA instead of IE7 alone, but Microsoft later announced that it would provide a beta version of InternetExplorer 7 (Beta 1) to Windows XP SP2 users in the summer of 2005. In 2003, Microsoft announced that it would not continue to develop InternetExplorer for Mac for Macintosh computers. Support for Macintosh computer InternetExplorer also ended in 2005, and stopped providing downloads in 2006.
