SAS 12 shotgun is a multi-purpose weapon developed on the basis of the pre-research of China's melee assault weapon. It was designed by Lin Maoxiang at 1990. The gun is novel in style and convenient to use, reaching the level of similar products in the world. The automatic ammunition feeding system has filled the gap in China and won the national invention patent. SAS 12 shotgun uses 12 standard shotgun bullets. The total weight of the gun is 3.6kg, the total length of the gun is 1 125mm, the barrel length is 600mm, and the muzzle has 3/4 throat constriction. Shotgun throat constriction, also known as necking, refers to the numerical value that the muzzle inner diameter is smaller than the bore inner diameter, and its purpose is to gather projectiles and improve the shooting density. The maximum throat shrinkage of the shotgun is 1mm, and the throat shrinkage of 3/4 is 0.75 mm. At this time, the inside diameter of the muzzle is about18.5-0.75 =17.75 mm. SAS12 shotgun adopts semi-automatic shooting, with fixed stock and folding stock. There are 3 rounds or 6 rounds of ammunition supply machine, and ammunition is automatically replenished.
The gun is mainly composed of barrel, shell, bolt, gun frame, launcher, magazine, wooden protection, recoil spring of gun stock, etc. It has manual safety and dislocation safety devices.
The firing process is as follows: pull the gun handle to load the first bullet, release the manual safety, pull the trigger to release the iron, release the hammer, inject with the hammer, and fire the primer with the needle to ignite the gunpowder. Under the action of gunpowder gas, the shotgun and the bullet seat fly forward along the barrel. When the gunpowder gas passes through the air guide hole, part of the gas enters the air chamber to act on the piston, the frame of the gun pusher completes the free stroke, and then the lock is unlocked, which drives the gun pusher to move backward to compress the recoil spring, extract the shell, throw the shell and overwhelm the hammer. After the recoil force is in place, under the action of the recoil spring, the recoil force of the bolt and the gun rack pushes the auxiliary bullet to lock. At this point, the automatic cycle process is completed.
Technical difficulties
The gun was originally manufactured by 96 16 factory, and there are two technical keys in the design: first, the magazine of 12 shotgun is difficult to supply, and the bottom edge is large, so the plastic casing is not allowed to squeeze and rub, which further increases the design difficulty; Secondly, when using this kind of bomb, the bore pressure of the gun is relatively low, which is less than 72MPa (about 700 atmospheres), far lower than that of conventional linear bore pressure weapons (generally more than 200MPa), and it is very difficult to realize automatic circulation. Therefore, the key to the design of the gun lies in whether these two technical difficulties can be successfully solved. Chinese researchers did not copy the traditional design experience, but broke the routine and made bold innovations, which solved these two difficulties and accumulated useful experience for the development of shotguns in China.
Civil market
SAS 12 shotgun, with its advantages of semi-automatic shooting, fast magazine changing, fast aiming and fierce firepower (density 73% at 35 meters), has added a new variety with excellent performance to the market and sports ground of our country's civil shotgun. Zhang Shan, the world champion of skeet, once used this kind of gun for shooting performance and gave a high evaluation, but it was soon banned in China, and only a few guns were sold.
SAS 12 "shotgun folding bracket" and other products can also be equipped with military police to fill the gap, and this kind of gun is also exported overseas.
As far as the international market is concerned, although there are many kinds of shotguns, most of them belong to boutique families, and the price of each shotgun is as high as 600~2000 dollars. SAS 12 shotguns are favored by foreign businessmen and exported abroad because of their similar performance and moderate price.
