Both are Taiwanese brands. In terms of brand value, the difference between the two is very small. They both have complete product and price systems, and they also have their own patented technologies. They all manufacture bicycles for big international brands, so it’s hard to tell who is stronger and who is weaker.
Personally, I think Giant may be slightly ahead, although Merida seems to be a little better than Giant in extreme lightweighting of road cars.
There are several reasons:
1. In the road car product system, Giant has more categories than Merida, and the classification is more detailed;
2 , Giant is the world's largest bicycle assembly and production manufacturer. It has its own raw material manufacturers, and its annual output is close to 50% of the world's total output. Merida still relies on OEMs in some aspects, and the scale of the company is smaller than that of Giant;
3. According to some of my observations in overseas forums, Giant’s reputation is slightly higher than that of Merida. For example, Japan’s The recognition is very high.
Actually, I really can’t tell which one is better, KFC or McDonald’s. There is actually not much difference between the two bicycles at the same price. Personally, I suggest you look at the paint. Buy whichever one you like.
