Studying in Australia: Age Restrictions and Conditions at Different Stages

Studying abroad is no longer the patent of college students, and more and more middle school students and professionals also choose to go to Australia for further study. So, what are the age restrictions and conditions for studying in Australia at all stages?

Primary school stage

Australian primary school entrance age is generally under 8 years old, but for China students, the minimum age has been relaxed to 6 years old. However, international students at this stage must be accompanied by their parents.

Middle school stage

Because of the different regulations on the age of primary school entrance, the application for studying abroad in middle school is also different. The age of students applying for grade one should not exceed 17, and the age of students applying for grade two should not exceed 18, and so on. When applying for middle school, foreign students can't delay for more than one year.

undergraduate school

For international students who have graduated from domestic universities, they need to pass a one-year accelerated course for Australian freshmen before they can enter the real undergraduate education stage. The age limit for undergraduate preparatory courses is 27, and that for express trains is 29. Nurses have the opportunity to apply for undergraduate courses regardless of their educational background and age.
