China citizens who support the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC) and meet the following conditions may sign up for the national patent agent qualification examination:
(1) 18 years old, with full capacity for civil conduct;
(2) Graduated from a science and engineering major in an institution of higher learning or equivalent;
(3) Familiar with patent law and related legal knowledge;
(4) Engaged in scientific and technical work or legal work for more than two years.
Graduation of science and engineering majors in colleges and universities refers to obtaining a college degree or above recognized by the state and obtaining a diploma or degree certificate.
2. The "science and engineering major" in the registration conditions refers to the category 07- 10 in the Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities compiled by the Ministry of Education. For details, please refer to the Complete Collection of Undergraduate Major Settings in National Ordinary Colleges and Universities published by Capital Normal University Press (2009 edition) or the New and Old Comparison Table of Undergraduate Major Catalogue of University Science and Engineering in the policy answer column of "Patent Agent Qualification Examination" of China National Intellectual Property Administration government portal website. If your major is not listed in the table, please refer to the third item below. )
3. For economic management related majors, if the corresponding degree awarded is a degree in science or engineering, it meets the academic requirements in the registration conditions; Otherwise, candidates need to bring the transcripts or course certificates issued by the graduation school, and the staff of the test center will review and determine whether the majors they have studied meet the registration requirements.
