Jining Normal University (JNNU) is located in Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a public full-time undergraduate college organized by the people's governments of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Wulanchabu City, and it is also a pilot school for the overall transformation and development of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

1958, the State Council approved the establishment of Wulanchabu League Teachers College on the basis of Jining Teachers College. Wulanchabu Teachers College was founded in 1985, and 1995 was renamed Jining Teachers College. In 2000, Wulanchabu League Normal School and Wulanchabu League Mongolian Normal School merged into Jining Normal College. In 2009, Jining Teachers College was established on the basis of Jining Teachers College.
