Hubei Police University, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is a full-time undergraduate public security political and legal college organized by Hubei Provincial People's Government.
The college originated from the training course for cadres of the Public Security Department of Hubei Provincial People's Government and was founded in June 1949. After that, it experienced the development stages of Hubei Provincial People's Government Public Security School, Wuhan Branch of Central People's Public Security College, Central Second Police Cadre School, Hubei Public Security School and Hubei People's Police School.
In April, 1984 was upgraded to Hubei Public Security College to carry out higher education. On June 1993, the name of the school was changed to Hubei Public Security College. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Hubei Police Officer College.
As of February 2023, the college has two campuses, namely, Jiefang Avenue South Campus and Nanniwan Avenue North Campus, with a campus area of 5 12 mu. There are 25 secondary colleges directly under the College, with undergraduate majors 12. There are 430 faculty members and more than 5,400 full-time undergraduates.
Scientific research achievements:
By February, 2023, college teachers had published more than one academic paper 100 in authoritative magazines such as China Law and Legal Research, and presided over or undertaken more than 300 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects such as the National Social Science Fund, the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base of the Ministry of Education, and the Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Teachers Fund Project of the Ministry of Education.
