Guilin Medical College, founded in 1935, formerly known as Guilin Senior Midwifery Nurse School, is one of the earliest medical colleges in Guangxi. The school 1958 was upgraded to Guilin Medical College, 1987 was upgraded to Guilin Medical College, 1993 was qualified to recruit foreign students, was granted the master's degree authorization in 2006, was listed as the project construction unit of doctoral degree authorization on 20 14, and was approved to establish a postdoctoral research center on 20 15.
