Huawei patent search

Recently, a lot of information about Huawei Mate60 series has been revealed. One of the most concerned points is that some bloggers actually hammered Huawei Mate60 with a design similar to Apple's "smart island".

Seeing this news, some netizens were not calm and accused Huawei of copying Apple. But I didn't know that Huawei had applied for a patent for this design.

Five years ago, Huawei applied for various forms of appearance patents to dig screens.

It can be found from official website, China National Intellectual Property Administration that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. applied for a patent for display appearance in May 20 18302 197206. The design product is used in mobile phone display screen to display video, image, text, icon and other data information.

Moreover, according to the patent map, Huawei has applied for a design patent for the left, middle and right positions of screen hole digging. For patent research and development, Huawei is still at the forefront, but the previous scheme of digging holes in the middle has not been used in mass production machines.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei has also conducted user surveys before. In the survey, Huawei provided two "smart island" schemes, one is "the four sides are equally wide" and the other is "the left and right sides are extremely narrow", as shown in the above figure. This also laid the foundation for the "smart island" design of Huawei Mate60 series.

As we all know, Huawei's investment in R&D is very considerable. According to the 2022 annual report of Huawei Investment Holding Company, in the past ten years, Huawei has invested more than 977.3 billion yuan in R&D expenses. In 2022, the R&D expenditure will reach161500 million RMB, accounting for 25. 1% of the annual income.

Huge R&D investment has also brought a considerable number of global patents to Huawei.

For example, in 5G and WIFI6, Huawei owns 20% of the global patents, and in 4G, it owns 10% of the patents.

According to statistics, in 2022, Huawei's patent licensing revenue was 560 million US dollars. Each 4/5G mobile phone can charge a maximum of 18 yuan patent fee.

For a very large company like Huawei, many patents are in the forefront of the world, which is very worthy of recognition and praise.
