As we enter the mobile Internet era, the domestic smartphone industry has achieved various leaps and bounds, and the industry has become more mature. Major brands are constantly competing with each other. In order to seek a broader space for development, all factories are also looking overseas.
Among them, the Vietnamese market is one of the battlegrounds for various manufacturers. Not only does it have tens of millions of users to be developed, but more importantly, it is also the production site for mobile phone assembly. Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, etc. All brands have a presence in this market.
It is worth mentioning that there were originally no representative local mobile phone brands in Vietnam. However, in the past two years, local mobile phone manufacturers in Vietnam have quietly emerged, and their development momentum is very good.
This brand is VSmart. It also launched its own 5G mobile phone some time ago, which attracted a wave of attention from the outside world. Of course, the popularity of VSmart, which has only been established for two years, is not enough to spread too far, and it is not very famous in China, but its development potential must not be underestimated.
In the Vietnamese smartphone market at the beginning of 2020, VSmart has been among the top three in the smartphone sales list for several weeks in a row, second only to Samsung and OPPO. Giants such as Apple and Xiaomi have been beaten by it. Going ahead, it seems to have a "dark horse" attitude.
The reason why VSmart has developed so rapidly is that in addition to its own excellence, there is also a very important point, that is, it is backed by a big tree to enjoy the shade. It is backed by Vingroup, which is involved in many fields in Vietnam. Its boss is Vietnam's richest man Phan Riwang, who is worth billions of dollars. In order to build a mobile phone as soon as possible, Pan Riwang directly acquired a majority stake in the Spanish electronics manufacturer BQ and obtained relevant technology. He used money to solve the problems of mobile phone R&D, production and sales in one go.
In the middle of this year, VSmart announced that it had manufactured Vietnam’s first 5G mobile phone, which is positioned as a mid-range 5G smartphone. It uses Snapdragon 765G and is equipped with a 4000mAh battery. It looks very much like the Huawei Mate 20 series.
Although it is a new brand, VSmart is still very competitive and has great ambitions. In addition to better understanding the needs of local people, it has also successfully entered overseas markets such as Spain, Russia, and Myanmar. Moreover, this year's situation is special. The mobile phone market has been somewhat impacted. As a new brand, VSmart's sales have increased instead of falling. It can be seen that VSmart definitely has its own advantages.
Of course, no matter in terms of overall sales or technological maturity, VSmart still cannot be compared with major domestic and foreign manufacturers. According to a survey by the authoritative organization Gartner, the top three smartphones in 2020 Quarterly global smartphone shipments were, with Samsung accounting for the highest global market share of 22%, Huawei accounting for 14.1%, Xiaomi accounting for 12.1%, Apple accounting for 11.1%, and OPPO accounting for 8.2%.
