TPX is granular, does not absorb moisture, and does not need to be dried before processing.
Chemical properties:
The side chain of TPX is very large.
The movement of 1) molecule is restricted.
Therefore, TPX has excellent heat resistance (220~240℃).
2) There is almost no density difference between the crystalline part and the amorphous part.
Therefore, TPX has high transparency and excellent transparency (Haze5% is lower than 5%).
3) The packing density of molecules is very low.
Therefore, the permeability of TPX is excellent (10 times that of HDPE); Low density (lowest among known plastics)
Injection molding:
1) barrel temperature: the suitable barrel temperature is 280 ~ 300℃
2) Speed and pressure: low-speed and low-pressure injection is strongly recommended to reduce product deformation.
3) Note: The viscosity of TPX drops sharply in the molten state. Therefore, point gate is most suitable for injection molding. This helps to reduce the deformation of the gate part. For thin-walled products, we strongly recommend using eccentric gate to avoid warping.
