Microsoft gives XSX host two choices. XSX develops new expanded SSD hard disk.
Among the new generation hosts, Sony's PS5 host has put a lot of effort into SSD hard disk, and the performance of 5.5GB/s is better than Microsoft's XboxSeriesX (XSX for short).
The 2.4GB/s of the host hard disk has more than doubled. However, the Microsoft XSX host has created a new type of mini SSD hard disk, which is made by Seagate and may become a killer.
In Microsoft's XSX host, the NVMeSSD hard disk has its own capacity of 1TB, which obviously can't satisfy everyone, and it depends on an external hard disk.
On this issue, Microsoft has prepared two options for XSX. One is the traditional USB interface mobile hard disk, which supports USB3.2 standard.
This speed should not be too high, so XSX has also developed a brand-new extended SSD hard disk.
In fact, this hard disk is similar to a common USB flash drive, or even smaller, only the size of a fingernail. Customized by Seagate, the capacity can reach 1TB.
As for the performance, Microsoft has not announced the specific speed of this 1TB mini SSD, but the official said that it matches the internal NVMe hard disk.
It means that the speed is also GB/s and the performance will be very strong.
Microsoft chose Seagate instead of Samsung, Toshiba and other flash memory manufacturers on this SSD hard drive, which also benefited Seagate's SSD business.
Some analysts have calculated that this year's shipment of 1TB mini SSD is about 100-2 million, and the average selling price is100 USD.
Only at this point, this expanded SSD hard drive can contribute $6,543.8+0-200 million to Seagate's revenue. The total amount won't be very big, but you should know.
Seagate's SSD hard disk business had only $7.765438 billion in revenue last year. You contributed 20% revenue growth to this hard drive.
These are the two choices that Microsoft gave the XSX host to develop a brand-new extended SSD hard disk.
