What are patent family, patent family and basic patent?

Patent protection is considered as an important prerequisite for large-scale technical exchanges between countries. With the development of science and technology, the international exchange of patent technology is becoming more and more frequent. However, due to the strict regionality of patent rights, people must apply for patents for their inventions and technologies in many countries if they want to obtain patent protection from many countries, so patent families have emerged. A group of documents and publications with the same or basically the same content produced by applying for patents for the same invention and creation in many countries are called patent families. In the same patent family, every document and publication is a patent of the same family. In each patent set, the documents and publications applying for patents in the first country are basic patents. About 350,000-400,000 of the/kloc-0,000,000 patent specifications published every year in the world are basic patents. However, British derwent Publishing Company has its own regulations on basic patents. It takes the patents of major countries received by the company as basic patents, and the patents of the same invention received later as family patents.
