Introduction: The National Coal Research Institute was formerly the Beijing Coal Science Research Institute, which was established in 1957. It gradually transformed from a scientific research type to a scientific research and operation type, and basically achieved self-financing in 1990. After more than ten years of development, the China Coal Research Institute has formed an industrial development pattern integrating scientific research, technology industry, technology services, project contracting, technology and trade, and its business scope has expanded to mining, metallurgy, hydropower, subway, municipal administration , roads and bridges, chemical industry and many other fields. In September 2008, with the approval of the State Council, the China Coal International Engineering Design and Research Institute and the China Coal Research Institute were reorganized and merged to form China Coal Science and Industry Group Co., Ltd., with the China Coal Research Institute becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group company. In May 2014, the General Institute of Coal Science and Technology was restructured and renamed "Coal Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd."
