Hanting District is in Weifang City.
Hanting District, affiliated to Weifang City, Shandong Province, is located in the east of central Shandong Province, bordering Laizhou Bay of the Bohai Sea to the north, Fangzi District and Weicheng District to the south, Changyi City to the east, and Shouguang City to the west. It is between 36°42′～37°10′ north latitude and 118°58′～119°25′ east longitude. It is 51.3 kilometers long from north to south and 42 kilometers long from east to west, with a total area of ??628 square kilometers. As of the end of 2021, the permanent population of Hanting District was 471,100.
Hanting District belongs to the flood plains in northwest Shandong and the alluvial fan landforms of low hills and hills in central and south Shandong. The terrain is higher in the south and lower in the north, with hills in the south, plains in the middle, and depressions in the north. According to the origin, it is divided into three micro-geomorphic types: low mountain slopes, alluvial alluvial plains and coastal landforms, and 16 micro-geomorphic units.
Historical evolution:
In April of the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), Weicheng was liberated, and the urban area, Fangzi, Shilibao in the south of the city and other places were set aside to establish Weifang Special City is part of Shandong Province. In August, four districts of Wangliu Office, four districts of Weinan County, and two districts of Weibei County were separated to establish Wei County (New Wei County), which is subordinate to Changwei District.
In February 1950, Weinan County was abolished and merged into Weibei County, which belongs to the Xihai District of Jiaodong District. In April, it was changed to Changwei District.
In 1953, Weibei County was abolished and merged into Weixian County, under the jurisdiction of Changwei Prefecture.
In 1958, Weixian County was abolished and merged into Weifang City, under the jurisdiction of Changwei Prefecture.
In 1961, Weixian County was reestablished and belonged to Changwei Prefecture.
In 1983, Weixian County was abolished and Hanting District was established, under the jurisdiction of Weifang City.
