With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and other departments, the National R&D and Industry Alliance of Semiconductor Lighting Engineering was founded in June 2004 by domestic key enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions in accordance with the principle of "voluntariness, equality and cooperation". At present, it has 293 member units from mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan Province Province and foreign-funded institutions registered in China. The alliance has a professional service team of nearly 100 people engaged in semiconductor lighting technology, industry and policy research, project management and consulting services.
The main work currently carried out by the alliance includes:
(1) Provide policy advice and support to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant government departments, assist the Ministry of Science and Technology in managing semiconductor lighting science and technology projects, and assist in supporting the construction of major demonstration projects of semiconductor lighting.
(2) Build a research and development platform for semiconductor lighting technology.
(3) Promote the standardization of semiconductor lighting, formulate technical specifications for semiconductor lighting, and release testing information.
(4) Explore the establishment of a patent pool, cross-authorize with R&D and patents to handle patent disputes, reduce transaction costs, and enhance the international negotiation ability and competitiveness of China's semiconductor lighting industry.
(5) Develop semiconductor lighting talents.
(6) Providing conference, exhibition, network and print media, consulting and other services for related enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions engaged in semiconductor lighting industry.
