Can ordinary gas welding braze diamond compact?

You can't. The diamond compact can be used to manufacture various drilling bits for geology, coalfield and oil well drilling, and good drilling results have been achieved. However, due to the high temperature resistance of the composite chip, the usual sintering process of diamond bit and welding process of cemented carbide bit are difficult to be directly applied to the manufacture of composite chip bit. Therefore, at present, some kind of brazing (patent number EP- 10 1-096-A) or the method of making composite parts into inserts with handles and then inserting them into the bit body (patent numbers US4265-324, GB2 108-554, CA-/kloc-0) is usually adopted internationally. When these methods are adopted, the composite pieces used must be finished to ensure the firmness of welding and the requirements of the overall size of the drill bit, and the finishing cost of the composite pieces is often very expensive. To sum up, ordinary gas welding brazing can not meet the needs of brazing with various patent numbers.
