Make a lifetime honor

Xu has been engaged in the research of oxide crystal growth by crucible descent method for a long time, and has undertaken many major projects, such as Shanghai Young Science and Technology Star Program, major projects of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and national natural science foundation projects. Some important research achievements have been made in the crystal growth of piezoelectric crystal LBO, new relaxation ferroelectric transistor PZNT and nonlinear optical crystal KLN, and new growth technologies such as bottom seed crystal method (BSSG) have been invented. He has published more than 100 papers in academic journals and international conferences at home and abroad, applied for 7 national invention patents, and published nearly 20 management and humanities papers. The new piezoelectric crystal LBO, which participated in R&D and production, has been adopted by many international companies such as Japan and South Korea, with a cumulative output value of more than 70 million yuan. This project won the first prize of 1993 China Academy of Sciences for scientific and technological progress, the second prize of 1995 National Technological Invention, and 1997 "China Patent Creation and Invention Gold Award" jointly awarded by the State Patent Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization. The research group has researchers 10, and undertakes two projects (National Natural Science Foundation Project1(250,000 yuan), Chinese Academy of Sciences Project1(4 million yuan, cooperation), Shanghai Key Natural Science Foundation Project1(300,000 yuan, cooperation) and Chinese Academy of Sciences Project (654,300 yuan).

On the one hand, it undertook the key project of four-inch LBO crystal growth and the export task of LBO crystal, on the other hand, it strengthened the construction of crystal discipline and carried out research on new materials such as thermoelectric conductor materials, bioactive glasses and relaxor ferroelectric single crystals. At present, the research topics include "Growth and application of large-size potassium tetraborate crystal" (a key project in Shanghai), "Study on the local phase diagram of Cao-Y (GD) 203-B2O3 ternary system" (National Natural Science Foundation of China), "Study on the growth of doped barium strontium niobate crystal" (Shanghai am Fund), "Exploration and research on new nonlinear optical crystals" and "Growth of relaxor ferroelectric single crystals for advanced medical devices". In addition, it has established international cooperative relations with universities and research institutions in the United States, South Korea, Singapore, Portugal and other countries.

Researcher Xu is not only actively involved in scientific research, but also concerned about the development of scientific research management in China. After scientific research, with a strong sense of social responsibility, I observed and analyzed the current situation of scientific research management and spiritual civilization construction on the scientific and technological front. In recent years, I have published nearly 20 papers on humanities and management in journals such as Science and Technology Management, Ketan Civilized World, China Science Journal and Book City, and put forward new ideas for the construction of contemporary scientific research ethics, which has attracted the attention of the scientific community and scientific research management departments. He studied the cultural characteristics of science, and pointed out that if science wants to take root in China, it must start with culture and learn scientific thinking. Therefore, he put forward the theory of scientific localization, which was highly praised by the internationally renowned scientific expert and the late Professor Zhao Hong, vice president of China School of Management Science, and gave each other poems. 1997 won the first prize of reading activities for young and middle-aged cadres in Shanghai science and technology system.
