How was the sewing machine invented?
The invention of sewing machine can be traced back to18th century. In order to improve the production efficiency of shoemaking, Thomas Seint, an Englishman, thought hard and designed a single-thread chain stitch sewing machine for sewing boots and shoes. 1790, he made the first manual sewing machine made of wood in London, and some parts were metal. Although this kind of machine is rough and not very practical, it opened the door for the invention of sewing machine. At that time, because there was no record of sewing machinery manufacturing, his patent was neglected in the patent library of textile machinery for 83 years. Later, this machine was copied and exhibited at the Paris World Expo in 1878.
