Toyota has CVT and Honda has CVT. What's the difference between them?

Speaking of the two fields of Japanese, the reason why it can always be praised by consumers is definitely extraordinary. Today we will talk about the advantages, disadvantages and differences between the two brands of gearboxes. Their models are equipped with different gearboxes, but all have CVT. Today, let's see whose CVT is better.

Globally, the carrying capacity of CVT is about 10%. As we all know, CVT is the car company with the lowest popularity of gearbox, which can be widely used and matured, that is, Erye and Nissan, which are known as the Japanese Big Three.

According to the driver's intention, the engine speed is adjusted to the most reasonable range through the stepless speed ratio, so as to accelerate at different speeds and obtain a lower cruising speed, so that the working engine is always at the most efficient speed and at the same time, the fuel consumption is reduced. These are the biggest characteristics of CVT.

Nissan took the lead in replacing the traditional steel belt with Bosch zipper, which can bear up to 450 Nm of torque, so Nissan CVT also changed its fragile image. In addition, Nissan has also integrated a set of planetary gear mechanisms on the basis of traditional CVT, and its integration has turned CVT into a main/auxiliary gearbox. This planetary gear set is the auxiliary gearbox, which has played an effective role in improving the soft start of CVT. Generally speaking, Nissan CVT technology is still very innovative while it is constantly upgrading.

According to the proverb of Honda gearbox, "Honda's outsourced engine is cheaper than its own research and development!" It can be seen that CVT is really helpless for Honda Because Honda's own AT lacks basic 6AT, the latest research and development achievement 10AT gearbox costs a lot and can only be purchased. At this time, the appearance of CVT undoubtedly solved Honda's urgent need, but CVT is not the development direction of Honda.

Toyota, which pioneered the patented technology of CVT coaxial double-outlet oil pump, simply put, the double-outlet oil pump has this design method, which allows the gearbox to use two different oil circuits under different high/low workload. In the case of constant speed or deceleration, CVT can automatically switch to the low-pressure outlet to reduce the working load of transmission oil pump. At present, Toyota CVT can reduce the energy loss of oil pump by 30%. Generally speaking, Toyota, which has made great efforts in energy saving, has not completely solved the real disadvantage of CVT.

Generally speaking, both areas are in the process of continuous improvement and upgrading of CVT, and Nissan's improvement of CVT is more like a change, which almost solves all the core problems of CVT.
