In recent 20 years, he has been engaged in the research on the prevention and treatment of plant viruses and virus diseases, and presided over 30 scientific research projects such as the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, "863" and Eurocoplasma, which revealed the internal relationship between Polymyxomycetes graminis and its virus transmission for the first time, systematically studied the deletion mutation and biological characteristics of plant viruses, and did a lot of research on the occurrence and prediction of viruses in important grain crops such as rice and wheat, the characteristics of vector fungi and virus transmission, the screening of resistance sources and integrated control techniques. 54 kinds of viruses in food and cash crops were identified, and two new species 12 were found. The whole sequence and systematic evolution of virus genome were studied, and the comprehensive prevention and control of virus diseases of important grain crops were carried out in cooperation with relevant units, which saved huge economic losses.
