Do you need to prepare anything to study?

1, required materials

Need to prepare:

Certificates and transcripts, resumes, personal statements, expert recommendation letters, etc.

Certificates include:

Scholarship certificates, various competition certificates and patent certificates,

Transcripts include:

Transcripts, CET-4 and CET-6 transcripts and computer grade certificates,

In addition, there are grade ranking cards, student ID cards, ID cards and a decent photo.

These materials need to be scanned into electronic version, preferably in jpg format, because it is easier to convert jpg into pdf, and it is more complicated to convert pdf into jpg. After scanning, all electronic versions must be converted into pdf format and classified.

You should print several sets of award certificates, but don't print them at college level or university level unless you have few national or provincial awards. In order of importance, it is best to get a certificate list as the cover, which is clear at a glance, as follows:

When an ID card is scanned into an electronic version, it needs one front, one back and one back together in case of emergency.

Don't take photos anywhere, spend more money and enjoy one-stop service (makeup, formal dress, ps).

These electronic versions are best saved to the cloud disk or mailbox. It is recommended to use the cloud disk, because the mail will have an expiration date. If you are preparing for a second interview in a foreign country and suddenly find that you forgot to bring your certificate or a copy of your ID card, and you don't have a computer in your hand, you will be in trouble!

2. Resume

Resume resume, one word: Jane! A page of A4 paper is suitable, unless there is too much experience and meaning, and it can't fit on one page. There are many templates on the Internet. You can download it online. The font should not be too small and the structure should be clear.

For engineering students, there are basically three parts:

2. 1: Personal basic information, including school, major, ranking, political outlook, etc.

2.2: Awards or honors won, including scholarships, competitions, etc. , must be very important! ! !

2.3. Scientific research experience and interest direction. Note that participating in the competition is not scientific research, but scientific research should refer to following the teacher into the research group and achieving certain results. If you have no scientific research experience, you can write about your participation experience. Do not list awards. Be sure to write something with high gold content, such as challenge cup, mathematical modeling and so on. And don't write the S prize for American mathematical modeling …

The format and content of resumes are different, but they can't be fancy. Find more templates and learn from others' excellent resumes, but don't copy them completely. If you have won a prize or have little experience, you can write a self-evaluation.

3. Personal statement

Personal statement is a comprehensive introduction to oneself, and it is also modular. I am used to the general format of the total score.

The first paragraph introduces the professional ranking of your school and boasts about yourself appropriately. Introduce the following items:

(1) academic (professional) background: introduce your professional background, what scholarships you have won, your CET-4 and CET-6 scores, your English level and your practical ability.

(2) Scientific research or competition experience. Choose a few representative ones, highlight what you have done and learned, and don't dwell on how awesome the projects you have participated in. Teachers pay more attention to your research direction and your potential scientific research and academic ability. When writing a project, you need to polish it. You must reflect your own thinking and exaggerate it appropriately, but you must ensure that the pit you dug can be filled up in the future without leaving any traces.

(3) own research interests. If you have done some scientific research projects before, it can directly arouse your research interest. If you haven't done it yet, try to write how you became interested in it through practice and study, and then introduce your own advantages. If the self-presentation is used to send an email to the teacher, then the research direction you are interested in must be consistent with the teacher.

(4) Introduce other aspects, such as your hobbies, specialties and personality. Teachers like practical and serious students, but they can't give people the feeling of being a bookworm, but they should also show a sense of cooperation and be friendly and easy to get along with.

(5) Introduce your study and research plan. The content can be long or short. If you have a clear direction for the future or know how to do it, you can write it in detail. Most students can write according to "routines", but they must form their own characteristics. Reference routine:

Study hard and lay a good foundation-read a lot of literature and think seriously-enter the laboratory to exercise yourself-find the direction of interest-how to achieve the goal.

Finally, the paper summarizes and shows his attitude towards scientific research.

1500-2000 is appropriate, not necessarily in full accordance with the above format. The above format is just my own habit, and everyone is for reference only.

4. Expert recommendation letter

When writing an expert recommendation letter, you should contact the teacher in advance. In most cases, the teacher asks you to write your own draft and then ask the teacher to revise it. If the teacher knows you well, he may write his own recommendation letter.

It is estimated that it will take you a long time to prepare expert recommendation letters, unless you write well. Because you need to change constantly and write in a teacher's tone, you should not praise yourself blindly, but learn to analyze problems dialectically. Write down the shortcomings, but the shortcomings must be insignificant or can be corrected, and will not leave a bad influence on people.

General registration requirements will explain how to write an expert recommendation letter, but these aspects:

(1) To know the way, time and degree of the applicant, please introduce the applicant's ideological and moral cultivation;

(2) Introduction of the applicant's academic level, scientific research ability, research achievements, knowledge structure and foreign language level;

(3) The advantages and disadvantages of the applicant, his undergraduate study and scientific research work (if any), whether the applicant has innovation potential and prospects for further study, and his opinions on the applicant's application for recommending to study for the doctoral (master's) degree of xx University without taking the test.

Generally, the teacher prints the signature; Individual teachers can write by hand.
