Information needed for Japanese trademark registration?

1. The applicant may be a company legal person or a natural person, but when foreigners need to apply for a Japanese trademark, they should follow the following principles:

A the applicant's country is a member of the Paris Convention;

B the country where the applicant is located has signed a bilateral agreement on trademark protection with Japan;

C the applicant's country and Japan have the principle of reciprocity. When applying for trademark registration in Japan, few members of the Paris Convention were rejected because of their qualifications.

2. An application for an international trademark filled out in Chinese and foreign languages and stamped with the official seal;

3. The name and address of the applicant in Chinese, English and Japanese;

4. A copy of the business license is required to apply in the name of a company as a legal person/a copy of the ID card is required to apply in the name of a natural person;

5. Trademark name and design (color trademarks need to be indicated, if the trademark is plain text without design, then no pictures are needed, just submit the text);

6. Applicant category or service category (select 10- 15 subcategory under one category);

7. Evidence of trademark use;

8. Priority documents (if any) (priority documents can be submitted within three months from the date of application)

9. Where a trademark agency is entrusted, a power of attorney for trademark agency shall also be submitted.
