Know the profession of coach
A coach is a neutral and selfless supporter and a professional "thinking partner". Accompanying and listening is his way of working, inspiration and thinking are his basic skills, and it is his mission to achieve others as success. He can be a helper in our life, so that everyone can cope with the future with full energy.
The expression of Coach was first translated by English Coach, which means carriage in English. The carriage can't tell the client where to go, but the client (the coachee \ the coachee) can tell the carriage where you are going, and the carriage can help you get there. In other words, the coach will not tell us where to go, but can better help us find the direction and find a more suitable answer.
At one time, coaching was the patent of enterprises and executives. Now, coaching is applicable to all learning relationships. For example, teachers should be coaches, parents should be coaches, coach-style communication and coach-style leadership ... Coaches can help them improve their personal performance and learning quality. I believe they are born with creativity and wisdom.
Unforgettable coach course experience
In the summer vacation of p>221, I was lucky enough to get in touch with seven professional coaches in the charity learning activities in Shanghai, and I experienced the feeling of being with them and got a deeper understanding of the profession of coaching.
At the beginning of the activity, seven coaches told stories about their attachment to the profession of coaching. Although their experiences were different, the original intention of their choice was the same-to heal themselves and give others energy, so that everyone could meet themselves better.
The professional explanations of the coaches have deepened the understanding of this profession. As a coach, what should I do? Learn to ask questions, which should be open-ended, and give the companions a space to answer, so that they can slowly open their hearts and pour out themselves; Learn to listen, not only to other stories, but also to their needs, desires and values. Learn to give feedback, see their needs from listening, and help them find their own problems. The coach should be like a mirror, let them see their blind spots and find the right direction through dialogue.
In the experience session, seven coaches walked into seven groups, recreating the scene of the dialogue between the coaches and the coaches. Coach Zhuang walked into our group and had a face-to-face communication with Huanhuan, the teacher in the group, in view of the confusion that the open class was not recognized. At first, I always had the urge to interrupt Huanhuan's story, but Teacher Zhuang's eyes were soft, and she listened to every story of Huanhuan sincerely, recording the key words in the language from time to time, which gradually calmed me down and learned to listen.
When Huanhuan stopped, he began to ask: Is this quality class important to you? What is the standard of quality class? Have you ever attended your own class? How do you think? ..... Every question will give enough time, let Huanhuan fully pour out, and encourage it at the right time.
Huanhuan burst into tears unconsciously, and fully poured out her grievances and dissatisfaction. The confusion in her heart was also solved through repeated self-examination: in her daily work, she should constantly cultivate herself from the aspects of improving the artistry, language expression and affinity of teaching design.
It turns out that on the road of life, those close friends who have listened to our stories and given us help and nourishment seem to have played the role of coaches. With them, they have inner warmth and motivation to move forward.
as teachers, have we listened to the children's voices sincerely? Have children ever opened their hearts for us? Have we ever given them companionship and support as coaches? I can't help thinking ... We should learn from the professional behavior of coaches and apply it to our own education and teaching. We should become coaching teachers, empower more children and help them grow up!
? ? Reflections on being a coach-type teacher
During the public welfare study in Shanghai in summer, I found a particularly common phenomenon: every coach and tutor has a lovely nickname, which is kind, lovely and warm, and will be deeply remembered in my mind after reading it once. These nicknames are in Chinese, such as Baby Teacher, Star Teacher, Huahua Teacher, Anna Teacher, etc. There are English, my English foundation is not good, but the only one I remember is particularly impressive, and that is the name of teacher Song Yunhua. In order to make everyone remember her English name better, she directly used the method when we first learned English as students-using Chinese homophones instead. She told everyone: "My English name is easy to remember, three drops, no water, long cavity-three drops", which made us laugh out loud at that time. Unexpectedly, this move is really effective.
With nicknames, you can call them by their first names, whether you are a student or a teacher, whether you are old or young. Nicknames can be blurted out without surnames, and there is no strangeness. On stage and off stage, they are immediately integrated, and a sense of equality and intimacy comes to mind in an instant. Especially for a group of teachers from rural areas, nicknames immediately eliminate the anxiety brought by this strange city and strange environment. Call out everyone's nicknames, and we are old friends who have been reunited for a long time. It turns out that nicknames have such unknown curative effects.
I think: To be a coach teacher, we must first establish an equal and harmonious relationship between teachers and students. At the beginning of the new semester, we might as well give ourselves a lovely nickname, which is unusual and unexpected, and I believe it will win the students' "preference" for you immediately.
That little nickname seems to be an inconspicuous move, but every time it is loudly called, the children will have more love for you from the bottom of their hearts; Speaking at home, the child will have more pride. "Look at my relationship with the teacher, we are all on a first-name basis ....." What kind of power will the child develop inside?
I once had a colleague, Mr. Li Dongmei, who was good at oral English and had translation experience before taking office. The teaching style is different, which makes students call their English name-"Anna". During recess and after school, "Anna, baybay ..." came one after another, and the sound was heard; In class, the children are full of excitement, their hands are straight up and their faces are red. At that time, I only felt that she loved the profession of teachers and children. Now that I think about it, in fact, she has been on the road to becoming a coach-type teacher.
The relationship between coaching teachers and students must be harmonious. They are no longer unattainable teachers for children. They are more trusted and close to students. They can easily enter the inner world of students and listen to their true thoughts ...
The best education is companionship, and the most beautiful enjoyment is spiritual communication. As a teacher, if we always take a condescending attitude, the child's heart will naturally not open to you. What we need to give them is companionship and trust, so that they can feel respected and recognized.
Children in primary schools are young, lively and active, often unable to sit still, and always report to teachers. It seems that more time is spent in solving "trivial" class affairs every day. Sometimes, it is inevitable that we will be upset by life events; Sometimes, there is unhappiness between children, which is really a slap in the face; Sometimes, we are busy with the routine work at school ..... I don't know when, we lose the patience and care we should have, and we are less serious when listening to students' inner voices, and more arbitrary when solving problems. It seems that we are pursuing short, flat and fast ways to solve problems.
In life and study, we should give positive encouragement and affirmation to children's performance, even give strong recognition. When children encounter difficulties in doing things and problems, we should help them find out the root of the problems, guide them to seek solutions to the problems together, and experience the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in solving the problems.
whenever we want to have a seizure, we might as well listen to what the child says first. In the process of listening seriously and calmly, we may find something more useful than "blame" For those students in the class who are grumpy and love to be "tough", we should not "hard" touch "hard". We should first let him truly express his thoughts and express his understanding with a kind attitude. After he melts away all his worries, anger and other emotions, let him examine for himself. Where is his mistake in front of the rules? According to the rules, you should do it yourself? It is believed that this will gradually internalize into students' conscious behavior of continuous reflection and timely adjustment.
Similarly, I believe that we can learn something from it, inspire and grow up with our children.
Many people think that appreciation is not just a compliment to children, but also a few words of "You are great". In fact, this is an overly one-sided understanding. This way of appreciation may make a child feel particularly excited and excited for a while before he is three years old, and it can ignite his passion for life and everything. But with the growth of age, for children who have entered primary school, he already has his own understanding of external things. If we use this kind of appreciation in general, it will certainly make children feel that there is more "water" in our appreciation and less sincerity. These "appreciation" gradually no longer arouse any ripples in their hearts.
This requires teachers to have a pair of discerning eyes in life, discover the "bright spots" of children and strengthen them in time, so that the advantages of children can be carried forward in your appreciation and praise.
understand students' personality characteristics. In life, it is not difficult to find that every child has his own personality and characteristics, and it is for this reason that they have become the only individuals in the world that cannot be copied. Some children especially love cleanliness, and their clothes are always neat every day; Some children are enthusiastic and especially willing to help others. Some children are not good at talking, but they have visible efforts. Other children may be keen on class management and show their faces when things go wrong ... There is always a naughty and troublemaker in the class, which gives us a headache. This is also a real existence.
As the saying goes, "Five fingers are not the same length." We should constantly enlarge and strengthen the advantages of each child after facing up to the personality differences between children. "What kind of world you see, what kind of heart you will have", "What kind of encouragement and expectation you give your children, what kind of teenager you will return in the future." This kind of targeted praise will make the child easier to understand and know what to do in the future, and your sincere affirmation can also encourage him to do better in the future.
See children's efforts. There is not much difference in the intelligence level of each child, but some people are better at this and others are better at that. And these congenital factors are beyond the control of children. And whether a person can develop well in the end depends on hard work. Therefore, we should appreciate children's efforts, not cleverness.
pay attention to children's progress. Teachers should be able to find out where children are better this time than last time, so as to stimulate their motivation and enthusiasm and strive to do better next time. Moreover, encourage children to strike while the iron is hot and praise them in time, so as to avoid the disappointment of children who are not encouraged in time, thus greatly weakening the effect of appreciation.
Appreciate and bring us closer to our children; Appreciation, let us see the shining light in children's eyes; Appreciate, let the child's heart be full of firm and upward power!
"It is often more important to ask a question than to solve it", which is a well-known saying. Because solving a problem may be just a mathematical or experimental skill, but asking new questions requires creative imagination.
the coach never gives an answer, but open-ended questions can make people think constantly, so that people can look for answers themselves. Timely inspiration and constant questioning are effective tools for coaches to make people introspect.
As a teacher, our questions are highly instructive in class. How to ask questions, when to ask questions, and the quantity and quality of questions will directly or indirectly affect the teaching effect. But in real life, many of our teachers are not good at or can't ask questions.
have we ever asked such questions? "Is that right?" "Good" and "Right" ... These questions make students blurt out without thinking. If such questions dominate the classroom, it will not only not activate students' interest in learning, but also lead students' thinking to the depths.
We teachers should learn to ask questions at key points. Thinking begins with surprises and questions, and guiding students' thinking with questions can often stimulate students' learning motivation and promote the improvement of classroom efficiency. In classroom teaching, we should fully understand students' hobbies, create real situations, fully mobilize students' multiple senses and participate in learning. If you ask questions at the right time in the difficult points of students' study, you can better help students think and lead their thinking to the depths.
Psychological research holds that when students encounter difficulties in their studies, teachers do not directly give answers, but set questions to guide them to overcome the difficulties and seek answers by their own efforts, which will greatly enhance their interest in learning, improve their confidence in learning, and at the same time, make them form a belief that difficulties can be overcome.
We should pay attention to the quality of classroom questions. In class, it is not how many questions we ask, but more about the quality of our questions. See if it asks at the key point, whether it asks properly, whether it asks accurately and unambiguously, and whether it helps students to think deeply. Will there be such a phenomenon in the classroom, after the teacher asks questions, the students look confused and at a loss? In fact, there must be something wrong with our questions, which requires our teachers to think from their own questions.
Being good at questioning and asking questions is the key for teachers to change their classroom teaching roles and improve teaching efficiency. Learning to ask questions should be a compulsory course for our teachers.
In the communication with the coach, the coach's manners, optimistic attitude and thoughtful way of thinking will have an intangible and profound influence on the sparring partner. Therefore, to be a coach-type teacher, we must set an example and strive to be the kind of person that students want to be.
If students are required to be honest, they cannot lie; If students are required to save food, they can't leave food at random; If students are required to be civilized in words and deeds, they should behave gracefully ..... Only when teachers are consistent in words and deeds and set an example can they convince students, infect students and edify them. As the saying goes, example is more important than words.
Che Nier Chevsky, a philosopher in the hungry country, once pointed out: "Teachers should be such people as they make students". This fully proves that the teacher's personality charm is the most powerful force in education.
Teachers should have dreams and pursuits. one person
