Patent information interface

Type-C has gradually become the mainstream interface of electronic equipment because of its advantages of no distinction between front and back, compactness and thinness. Except that Apple wants to sell more adapters, most of the flagship mobile phones on the market use Type-C. Of course, many people may be more familiar with its other name: "Huawei Port".

Although the statement of "the mouth of Huawei" is not accurate, Huawei is not the first manufacturer or inventor of Type-C, but it is undeniable that many people see the Type-C interface on Huawei mobile phones for the first time, and it has become a customary title over time.

But Huawei's contribution to Type-C is not only to promote the interface with its strong brand influence. A recently published patent shows that Huawei has also developed a method to prevent the corrosion of the Type-C interface.

Although Type-C is easy to use, it is very easy to wear in actual use, which is related to the CC pin inside the interface.

In Type-C, the CC pin is used to detect whether the device is plugged in. In a mobile terminal, it is usually necessary to keep the charging state all the time. Once water vapor, sweat and dust enter the interface, it is easy to cause electrochemical corrosion between CC pin and other pins.

Huawei's patent entitled "Anti-corrosion method of this terminal and C-type interface" provides a solution. Simply put, the motion sensor detects the motion state of the terminal, and the processor judges whether the CC pin is configured in the low-level mode, thus reducing the probability of electrochemical corrosion between pins due to humidity at the high level.

Huawei's P series and Mate series both support waterproofing. When users exercise, sweat may seep into the interface. This patent is expected to improve the waterproof ability of the equipment from the inside out.

However, does Huawei spend so much effort on the Type-C interface just to improve its anti-corrosion problem?

Will Huawei define anti-corrosion interfaces or even other new interface standards one day? Just like Apple's 30-pin interface and the lightning interface that is still stubbornly used, it is not surprising that Huawei, which also has strong control over its own products and has gradually improved its ecology, has become the maker of new interface standards.
