1893, Judson used the principle of concave-convex mismatch to design the early zipper. A colonel officer named Louis Walter paid special attention to the zipper, and he firmly believed that it was a great invention. When he retired from the army, he found Judson and founded Cosmic Fastener Company and Hoboken Hook Eye Company in New Jersey with him. Judson worked as a technician and began to produce zippers. Judson invested several years in research and development, and finally succeeded in 1904, and obtained the related patent No.5 in 1905.
19 12, Swiss engineer Sen Debacker hired by Judson Company reformed Judson's invention, and designed a set of female teeth and male teeth on the back of zipper teeth, which made the zipper buckle firm and reliable, but also fine and beautiful. In the same year, the zipper machine was developed, and the metal teeth were clamped on the cloth strips and arranged in a row, and the commercial production of zippers began. However, the promotion of zipper started from an accidental opportunity. In an air show, a button of the pilot accidentally fell into the plane, causing a vicious accident in which the plane was destroyed and people were killed. Business-minded Sen Debacker immediately seized this opportunity, contacted the military department and suggested sewing new military uniforms with zippers. Since then, the US Navy and Air Force have taken the lead in using zippers in military uniforms, and zippers have been popularized since then.
