Sharp's history began when its founder, Mr. Takuji Hayakawa, founded the metal processing industry in Tokyo in 19 12. 19 15, Mr. Hayakawa invented the metal movable pencil named "Ever-ReadySharpPencil", which was all the rage that year. This is the origin of the current Sharp company name and trademark. After that, Sharp successively developed the first Japanese crystal receiver, black-and-white TV set and the world's first all-transistor electronic calculator, and gradually developed into a comprehensive electronic manufacturer that produces household appliances, communication equipment, solar cells, LCD panels, LEDs, LSI and other electronic components.
Since the establishment of 19 12, Sharp has launched business in 64 regions in 26 countries around the world. Products range from radios and televisions to microwave ovens, calculators, solar cells, to liquid crystal displays. Sharp has launched a number of products that are "the first in Japan" and "the first in the world".
