Dear guests, good afternoon! The theme of my meeting today is the practice of Baidu's autonomous driving operation. I will introduce Baidu's autonomous driving operation in Changsha from three aspects. The first is the introduction of the current autopilot industry and the development of Baidu autopilot; The second is to share the status quo of the self-driving taxi ROBOTEXI; The third is the operation of ROBOTEXI in Changsha.
Since 20 17, both traditional car companies and new car-making forces have poured into the autonomous driving industry. These include some foundries that master core technologies and enterprises that do core industrial chains, such as radar and sensors. There are also some companies that do capacity and calculus, such as CPU, GPU, image recognition and so on. The autonomous driving industry can be said to be the hottest industry in the country and even the world.
Let's talk about the strategy of Baidu's intelligent trump card traffic engine. Baidu ACE traffic engine is the first full-station intelligent transportation solution in China. The most important part is the automatic driving technology in the intelligent engine. The landing of all ace intelligent transportation engines is based on the accumulation of autonomous driving technology, including Baidu's accumulation in maps, intelligent voice, small cars and artificial intelligence.
From the perspective of autonomous driving, Baidu is currently leading in the national and even global fields. We have 560,000 lines of code, ranking first in github; There is also the test mileage of autonomous driving, ranking first in the world; The number of patents is also the first in the country. In addition, the actual safety test mileage of Baidu's autonomous driving has reached 6 million kilometers, and it also has 150 national autonomous driving licenses and the only T4 license obtained in Beijing, which all show Baidu's powerful ability in the field of autonomous driving.
Judging from the national policies, laws and regulations on the development of autonomous driving, Baidu has also worked with the national policy ministries and commissions, including vehicle operation, vehicle license plate, industrial promotion, laws and regulations, and carried out a large number of pilots and operations, including the pilot of autonomous driving in Changsha. Together with the Changsha government, the road test rules were formulated, and version 3.0 was released this year, which can promote the real driverless test. In fact, we have completed the unmanned test and examination of self-driving, and some self-driving vehicles are completely autonomous without security officers.
In addition, Baidu's Apollo autopilot technology is the first in China, which also represents China's position in the world. Baidu entered autonomous driving from 20 17 as a challenger, and by 2020, it has become a leader and started global competition with Ford and other companies. In addition to autonomous driving technology, Apollo has the world's largest autonomous driving and intelligent transportation ecosystem in industrial ecology, covering all enterprises upstream and downstream of autonomous driving and intelligent transportation, including sensors, computing platforms, OEMs, travel services, and cooperation with governments, institutions and universities.
Now, let's talk about the self-driving taxi project. From the video just played, we can know that this red flag with automatic driving function is the product of our in-depth cooperation with the red flag brand. This car is the only L4-class self-driving passenger car in China, and it is also the fourth generation of Baidu self-driving. It integrates Baidu's new generation autopilot computing platform, sensors and lidar, and is surrounded by 9 cameras and 5 millimeter-wave radars. The detection distance before and after reaches 240 meters, and the positioning accuracy reaches centimeter level. According to the ability of our actuarial platform, the surrounding environment can be sensed normally in tunnels, high-rise buildings and weak GPS environments, and the response level of the whole vehicle has reached millisecond level.
Then you must be curious, how did we make mass-produced self-driving taxis? This is of course the accumulation of Baidu technology. At present, in terms of the number of licenses, Baidu has more than 150 autopilot licenses in China, covering 24 cities with a total test mileage of 6 million kilometers. There are also many developers, codes, patents and partners who support Baidu to improve Robotaxi technology, from centimeter-level positioning to all-round perception to depth prediction, as well as the planning and control of the whole trip.
In addition to these aspects, we can also bring intelligent human-computer interaction experience to ordinary users. These human-computer interaction experiences can make everyone feel the charm of autonomous driving and the sense of technology of autonomous driving during the test ride.
At present, there are 45 Robotaxi vehicles running in Changsha. Robotaxi began mass production in July, 20 19, and was officially tested in Changsha in September, 20 19. According to the road test rules in Changsha, we can test the autopilot in the open area 135km.
What should we do with this autonomous driving network? At present, stations can reach each other through Baidu map to meet travel needs. You can open Baidu map, choose a self-driving taxi, get on at the station, get off at the station, and then call Robotaxi. The car is coming, just scan the QR code on the back screen of the car through the mobile phone and you can start the car. This is the taxi booking process we are currently putting in Changsha.
Robotaxi has fully liberalized the test ride experience since April 9, 2020, and is open to all ordinary people and ordinary users. In Meixi Lake and Yanghu Lake, you can get a self-driving vehicle through the site on Baidu map. There are currently more than 100 sites for you to choose from. More than 100 locations were investigated in detail, including shopping malls, supermarkets and subway stations. In June, the West Second Ring Expressway was opened, but according to the current policy restrictions of the expressway, it can only be used as a reception guest for the test ride experience.
