Zhou Xuedong’s main contributions

He has been engaged in clinical medical work in oral medicine since 1980. He graduated in 1987 and received a doctorate in oral medicine in the same year, becoming the first doctorate in dental caries in my country. In 1987, he was sent to the Royal Dental College in Aarhus, Denmark, for further study. He was mainly engaged in basic and applied research on the etiology and prevention of dental caries, especially in the research on oral microecology, oral biochemistry, and oral microbiology. He has hosted, participated in and completed one National Natural Science Foundation of China key project, one National Science and Technology Research Plan project each of the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” and “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, three key clinical construction projects of the Ministry of Health, and three key research projects of Sichuan Province. research projects and many other scientific research projects. After years of repeated experiments, a multi-bacterial artificial plaque in vitro model system was successfully established for the first time. This research result reached the international leading level and won the second prize of the Ministry of Health's Scientific and Technological Achievement Award. He has published more than 240 papers, many of which won outstanding paper awards. He has attended more than 10 international academic conferences and more than 20 national and provincial academic conferences. He has edited and participated in the editing of "Oral Ecology" and "Oral Microbiology". 10 monographs including "Practical Dental Endodontic Therapy" and "Practical Dental Endodontic Therapy". 1 national invention patent and 2 national utility model patents. He has become an influential young expert in the field of dental medicine across the country.
