What materials are needed to change the name of the patent agency and the name of the patent agency law firm?

Where a patent agency changes its name, address and person in charge, it shall register the change with the Chinese Patent Office, and the change registration shall take effect after it is approved.

Name change process:

(a) the change of the name of the patent agency

Before applying for change, apply to China National Intellectual Property Administration for name pre-approval, which may include the names of one or more interested institutions; After being approved, apply to China National Intellectual Property Administration for change and submit the following materials:

1. Application form for change of registered items of patent agency in duplicate;

2, the original patent agency partnership agreement or amendment to the articles of association;

3. The original and copy of the registration certificate of the patent agency.

(2) The name of the law firm handling patent agency business is changed.

It shall first be submitted to the judicial administrative organ in charge of the law firm. After the change of the judicial administrative organ, it shall apply to China National Intellectual Property Administration for change and submit the following materials:

1. Application Form for Change of Registration Matters of a Law Firm Offering Patent Agency Business stamped by the changed law firm in duplicate;

2. The original of the partnership agreement or amendment to the articles of association of the law firm;

3. The original and photocopy of the practice license of the changed law firm;

4. The original and copy of the registration certificate of the patent agency.
