Mazda six-cylinder engine +8-speed gearbox patent exposure mass production in 2025

Mazda's paranoia has always been its biggest feature, but its research results in engines and gearboxes are impressive. Recently, Driving Sight learned from overseas media that Mazda has applied for patents for its in-line 6-cylinder engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, which will be used for the research and development of the next generation of new Skyactiv-X in-line 6-cylinder gasoline engine and Skyactiv-D diesel engine. This technology will be put into mass production as early as 2025, and the first vehicle will be a brand-new rear-drive mazda 6.

At the same time, Mazda also has a patent application for a brand-new 8-speed automatic transmission, which will become the power combination of Mazda in the next stage with the inline six-cylinder engine in the future, and the products will be listed between 2020 and 2025.

According to the previous news, the next generation mazda 6 will adopt the drive mode of front and rear drive, and will also introduce i-Active four-wheel drive system, as well as 48V light hybrid system and PHEV plug-in hybrid power. The design will further evolve, which means that mazda 6's next-generation products will definitely have a higher positioning and challenge luxury brands.
