Heilongjiang Institute of Science and Technology (formerly Heilongjiang Institute of Mining) is the only multi-disciplinary general institution of higher learning in Heilongjiang Province with mining as its feature, and it is also an excellent institution for evaluating the teaching level of the Ministry of Education. I. Historical evolution
The school's predecessor was the first coal miners' cadre school in Northeast China founded by China * * * Production Party in 1947. 1954 merged with Hegang Coal Mine School to form Jixi Coal Mine School; 1958 Established Jixi Mining Institute; 1964 partially merged with Jixi Coal Mine School; 1978, rebuilt; At 198 1, it was changed.
Before 1998, the school was affiliated to the former Ministry of Coal Industry, mainly for the coal industry. 1998 after the reform of the management system of higher education, the subordinate relationship between the central and local governments was established, with Heilongjiang Province as the main management. In 2000, it was renamed Heilongjiang Institute of Science and Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2003, the main body moved to Harbin.

After 1998, with the deepening of the market economy and the reform of higher education management system, survival and development have become the primary problems of schools. In order to survive and develop and better serve the national coal industry and regional economic and social development, the school seized the opportunity and made decisive decisions.
