Is the intellectual property court an intermediate court?

Not all intellectual property courts are under the jurisdiction of intermediate courts, which is clearly stipulated by law, considering the professionalism and large amount of intellectual property disputes.

The provision of the jurisdiction court for intellectual property infringement cases is that the grass-roots people's courts in larger cities can hear trademark civil disputes of first instance. In other cities, the courts of first instance for trademark infringement disputes are people's courts at or above the intermediate level, and so are civil disputes over copyright. With the approval of the local higher people's court, several grass-roots courts may preside over the first instance.
