What does a member of the grassroots work section of Qiaokou District Judicial Bureau do?

The grass-roots section of the Judicial Bureau is the business department that guides the township judicial offices. It mainly has the functions of people's mediation, prisoner release education, community correction, legal publicity, judicial administration, legal aid and legal services, and is one of the most important departments of the Bureau of Justice.

According to Article 34 of the Criminal Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), if the defendant in a criminal case is blind, deaf or dumb, or a minor has not entrusted a defender, or the defendant may be sentenced to a penalty without entrusting a defender, he shall receive legal aid. Legal aid is funded by the government to help the disadvantaged groups.
