Wire ropes commonly used in hoisting machinery mainly include the following types:
1. Phosphate coated steel wire rope (patented technology). After the steel wire is phosphatized by manganese series or zinc-manganese series, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the steel wire surface are improved comprehensively. The compound action of phosphating film and grease can effectively inhibit fretting wear and completely solve the wear problem of wire rope in use. The fatigue life is three times that of smooth steel wire rope with the same structure, and it can be verified by fatigue test (it is most reliable to do fatigue test by yourself). It is an upgraded product of smooth steel wire rope, and can also be used instead of galvanized steel wire rope (through salt spray test or comparative corrosion resistance), with long service life, lower unit use cost and better stability.
2. Galvanized steel wire rope, including hot dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. Generally speaking, the galvanized zinc layer is thick and the galvanized zinc layer is thin.
3. Stainless steel wire rope, mainly made of 304 or 3 16 stainless steel, has excellent anticorrosion effect, but it is expensive.
4. Based on plastic-coated steel wire rope and carbon steel wire rope, the outer layer is coated with polyethylene, polypropylene or nylon.
5. Smooth steel wire rope, with short service life and sharp drop in market demand, will be completely eliminated by phosphating coated steel wire rope.

For hoisting machinery used in atmospheric environment, phosphating coated wire rope is preferred, hot dip galvanized-phosphating double-coated wire rope is preferred in heavy corrosive environment, and marine wire rope is preferred in seawater. Please note that the name of wire rope, such as phosphating coated wire rope or 3 16 stainless steel wire rope, must be indicated on the purchase invoice to protect your legitimate rights and interests. In addition, patented products will generally be marked with the patent number on the outer packaging of steel wire rope, and the main technical indicators such as the type and weight of phosphating film should be listed on the warranty book for reference only.
