China FAW's independent research and development and technological innovation project of high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle and heavy-duty diesel engine won the first prize of 20 10 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Dr. Li Jun, director of the Technical Center of China FAW Group Corporation and the first finisher of the project, took the stage to receive the award on behalf of the winning team.

At the press conference, Dr. Li Jun, director of the Technical Center of China FAW Group Corporation, said that J6 was a one-time successful research and development, and its research and development experience is worth learning from other car companies. When talking about the award of J6, Dr. Li Jun said that the award-winning process of J6 was very difficult, and it was also the first national scientific and technological progress award for China, so it was very meaningful. J6 has made important breakthroughs in five major projects, which is also very significant for the research and development of the next generation J7 vehicle.

Heavy-duty vehicles are the key equipment for road transportation in all countries of the world. There are no independent high-quality heavy-duty vehicles in China in key areas related to national interests and national defense security, such as high-speed logistics, mining, petroleum and large-scale hydropower projects. Independent development of high-quality heavy-duty vehicles is not only to meet the needs of national economic construction, but also the key to realize the goal of automobile power in China, and is regarded as an important symbol of national scientific and technological innovation and independent development of automobile industry. China FAW won this award, which made China's high-quality heavy-duty truck board the national highest science and technology podium for the first time. It not only shows the top strength of China FAW in the field of independent research and development, but also sets up a banner of striding forward from catching up to keeping pace with the world in the field of heavy-duty vehicles in China, creating a new milestone in the development of heavy-duty vehicles in China.

As the only heavy-duty vehicle with no foreign investment background in China, China FAW has developed the high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle series for the sixth time since 2000 without technology introduction. J6 heavy-duty vehicle is an unprecedented large-scale independent development in China automobile history, with great difficulty, complete process, systematic organization and in-depth research and development, which lasted for 7 years. Focusing on the independent mission of establishing independence, breaking monopoly, emphasizing quality, building brand and enhancing national prestige, J6 Heavy Duty Truck has conquered high-quality heavy-duty vehicles, engines, automotive electronics and automobiles according to the high-quality goal of being more fuel-efficient, more environmentally friendly, safer, more reliable and more comfortable. Three vehicle platforms and four vehicle series of medium-sized, heavy-duty and ultra-heavy-duty have been built, with the total load covering 18 tons to 100 tons, totaling more than 100 vehicles. The performance of the high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle has reached the advanced level in contemporary Europe. It has successfully passed the German Rheinland T European standard certification and the Austrian Magna 1 10,000 km durability test, obtained the Russian and Iranian export certification certificates, and won the special prize for scientific and technological progress of China automobile industry in 2009. The noise of CA6DM 1 1L heavy-duty diesel engine has passed the certification of Southwest Research Institute of the United States, and obtained T4 certification.

During seven years of R&D practice, China FAW has further improved China FAW's independent R&D system, which is based on five systems: independent R&D processes and standards, quality assurance and product certification, project management and knowledge accumulation, personnel training and functional responsibilities, and independent innovation of corporate culture. China FAW's independent R&D capability, which is marked by five capabilities: product planning, performance development, engineering design, trial production verification and test certification, has been further improved. The formation of five systems and five capabilities has made FAW's independent research and development leap to a new level, enabling FAW to successfully plant high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle trees and gain the ability of "afforestation". On this basis, it has successively undertaken national 863 projects such as integrated development of high-quality heavy commercial vehicles, research and development and industrialization of embedded software platform of FAW engine and powertrain electronic controller, and other national "nuclear high-base" major projects, which have made great contributions to China's automobile high-tech innovation. J6 heavy-duty vehicle fully explains the connotation of "quality, technology and innovation" of China faw liberation brand, and opens up a new situation for the sustainable development of FAW's independent products, including the production generation, the R&D generation and the reserve generation.

The successful development of high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle plays an important role in promoting the optimization and upgrading of China's automobile products, the overall level of manufacturing industry and the level of independent technology in the industry, and promotes the leap-forward development of China's automobile industry competitiveness. The successful development of high-quality J6 heavy-duty vehicle has broken through the bottleneck technologies that have long restricted the development of China automobile industry, such as heavy-duty diesel engine, automobile electronic control, cab and large body panel manufacturing. Self-control high-pressure unit pump fuel injection system, high-strength frame steel plate materials and other independent innovation technologies have been popularized and applied in the industry.

J6 heavy-duty vehicle has won national patent 193, invention patent 15 and software copyright 2. Since it was put into production, 86,000 vehicles have been sold, with an output value of 20.87 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 4.09 billion yuan, which has achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.

Dr. Li Jun, the first finisher of the project "Independent R&D and Technological Innovation of High-quality J6 Heavy Truck and Heavy Diesel Engine", has been engaged in product development for more than 20 years, and has achieved fruitful results in the research and development of automobile engines, hybrid vehicles, automobile electronics and other fields, making outstanding contributions to the development of China automobile industry. He presided over the completion of 33 national, provincial and ministerial key scientific research and development projects, of which 6 scientific and technological achievements filled the domestic gap. He won 2/kloc-0 provincial and ministerial honorary titles and awards, such as "National Model Made in party member", "National Young Post Expert", "Young Science and Technology Expert" and "Expert with Special Allowance from the State Council", and was elected as the chairman of FISITA from 20 12 to 20 14.
