How to judge the quality of the battery?

The quality of storage battery can be judged by instrument test and experience method.

First, the instrument test method

Let's test a battery with an instrument to illustrate this process.

1. First, clamp the positive and negative clamps of the battery tester. The red clip clamps the positive battery and the black clip clamps the negative battery.

2. After clamping, the battery can display the current static voltage.

3. Next, press Enter. Select the test outside the vehicle.

4. Press Enter to select "Ordinary Lead-acid Battery".

5. Select the measurement standard type according to the battery label. The battery label here is 550A(SAE), so choose SAE.

6. Use the up and down buttons on the battery tester to adjust the test rating and adjust the rating to 550A.

7. Adjust the corresponding rating and press Enter to confirm the test.

8. According to the test results in the figure, the voltage is12.76 V; The rated value is 550A, and the test value is 524A. The battery is good.

Second, the empirical method.

1. If you just started using it.

Look at the appearance of the battery for scratches and abrasions, and then look at the metal parts of the positive and negative electrodes of the battery for corrosion.

2. If it is used for a period of time.

Observe whether the battery electrolyte is turbid, indicating that the battery positive plate is softened.

Observe whether there is sediment on the bottom of the battery. If so, it is because the battery capacity is insufficient due to the falling of the polar plate.

Tap the two electrode stacks of the battery by hand. If you hear a hollow sound, it means that the electrode stack and plate are broken.

Short-circuit the positive and negative electrodes with thick wires, and observe each charging hole of the battery. If bubbles appear in a compartment, it means that the compartment is damaged.
