Huawei's newly exposed patent envisages wireless charging of mobile phones with lasers.

Although wireless charging has been widely used in recent years, it is still difficult for users to get rid of the bondage of wireless charging board. Recently, however, it was reported that Huawei obtained a new patent for "true wireless charging" of mobile phones through laser, which is expected to be used in smart phones in the next two or three generations. Although this technology needs to be used in conjunction with the wireless charging module installed indoors, multiple users with supporting equipment can enjoy it at the same time.

Huawei told Android Authority that this method needs the help of a specific sensor installed on the device, and we can simply regard it as a miniature solar panel.

In addition, in order to avoid laser damage to human eyes, pets and other objects, the whole solution also involves a series of security functions, such as avoiding the action path of creatures.

At present, Huawei has not figured out how fast the charging speed is and how many devices it supports at most. However, in addition to mobile phones, this technology can also be used for long-distance wireless charging of devices such as drones, so that the battery life of mobile devices is uninterrupted.

As for whether it will overcome the real challenges as Huawei said, it will take time to test whether it will appear on mobile devices after two or three generations.
