Focusing on the upgrading of local industries and regional characteristics, the college has formed four characteristic research directions: dynamic disasters and disaster prevention and mitigation of soft soil foundation, wind and earthquake resistance and protection of structures, energy saving and emission reduction of buildings, development of green functional materials and new rural construction. In the past three years, the scientific research funds have reached 1 80,000 yuan, and 23 national projects have been undertaken, including the key project 1 of the National Natural Science Foundation, the outstanding youth fund project 1 of the National 973 Plan, and the National Natural Science Foundation 19. There are 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects and more than 50 projects entrusted by enterprises and institutions. Won three national and provincial awards, including the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress 1, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Education 1, and the first and second prizes of Zhejiang Science and Technology 1. Published more than 20 academic papers/kloc-0, of which more than 80 were included by SCI, EI and ISTP. Seven monographs were published, of which springer published English monograph 1. There are 26 invention patents authorized by the state.
The college attaches great importance to the construction of study style, actively creates a strong learning atmosphere and encourages students to actively participate in scientific research activities. The college took the lead in setting up a student research meeting in the whole school to guide students to participate in scientific research activities in an organized way. In recent years, it has won 1 national innovation project for college students, 45 scientific and technological innovation projects for college students in Zhejiang Province and 76 school-level scientific research projects. Students participated in the Challenge Cup, Structural Competition, Social Practice and Technology Competition of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction, Engineering Quantity Calculation Competition and other disciplines, and won 3 national student competition awards; Provincial first class 19, second class third class 1 13.
