How to treat nitric acid wastewater?

Nitrate nitrogen in water mainly comes from industrial wastewater, agricultural waste and domestic sewage. Nitrate has high solubility and good stability in water, and it is not easy to form precipitation or adsorption. Therefore, traditional simple water treatment technologies, such as lime softening and filtration, are difficult to remove nitrate from water. At present, the methods to remove nitrate from water include chemical denitrification, catalytic denitrification, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, ion exchange and biological denitrification.

Biological nitrogen removal is a common method to remove total nitrogen at present because of its economical and efficient nitrogen removal rate, in which nitrogen transformation includes ammoniation, nitrification and denitrification.
