In the late 1980s, there were only ordinary clean water submersible pumps and submersible sewage pumps. The submersible pump invented by Professor Wang opened up a new field of pumps.

The concept and complete scheme of multistage desilting submersible pump are put forward for the first time.

In the late 1980s, there was only a horizontal single-stage sand pump with large flow and low lift. Many high-lift and small-flow sand pump products urgently needed for engineering drainage were still blank. It has to be replaced by ordinary multistage centrifugal pump, but its service life is very short, and some of them wear out in less than 1 day or even dozens of minutes.

The multi-stage submersible pump and multi-stage vertical pump invented by Professor Wang have opened up a new field and pointed out a new direction for the research and development of pumps.

● Put forward the concept and complete scheme of amphibious sand pump for the first time.

The same water pump can be used as both a vertical sand pump and a submersible pump for discharging sand, which is a veritable "amphibious sand pump". The introduction of mine vertical pumps with perfect single-stage and multi-stage series products has opened up new fields of pumps and provided new ideas for their development.

● Propose a solution to allow the pump to idle for the first time.

The introduction of this technology is a major breakthrough in the development of water pump technology-"the pump is not allowed to idle" has become history.

● Put forward the "water cup theory" for the first time and give the solution.

Put the water cup upside down and vertically into the water, and there is compressed air in the cup. If the submersible pump is designed as a cup and the submersible motor is placed in "compressed air", the submersible motor is equivalent to working on the ground, which can greatly improve the waterproof reliability of the submersible motor. As early as 1975, Professor Wang developed a variety of "air-sealed submersible pumps". 1986, China introduced the patent system, 1988, and this new independent core technology was patented. In the submersible pump series designed later, the structure of the "air chamber" was constantly changed to meet the requirements of different environments.

● Put forward the "overload theory of dredging pump" for the first time, and give the solution.

The power of the pump is equal to the product of fluid specific gravity, flow rate and lift (W=ρgQH). The motor of ordinary submersible pump designed according to clear water or low specific gravity sewage obviously does not have enough power to pump and discharge sediment and mud. Moreover, when there is sediment in the water, the sediment particles will be stuck in the gap of the pump mouth ring, and the load will be further increased, so the power of the sand pump motor is much higher than the theoretical power. However, replacing the high-power motor will increase the volume and weight a lot, and the cost will also rise sharply.

Professor Wang believes that the rated output power of ordinary water pump motor will be greatly improved by air cooling and shell water cooling. During the period of 1998, Professor Wang completed the following tests at the Motor Testing Center of zhejiang mechanical and electrical University at his own expense: the stator and rotor of a standard Y series 55kW motor were put into a double-layer casing for water cooling, and passed the heat load test of 82.5kW. That is to say, the 55kW air-cooled motor became an 82.5kW submersible motor, which verified his inference and provided a basis for the design of series products. Submersible pump for dredging and vertical pump for mining use double-layer motor shell for water cooling, which greatly improves the motor power and prolongs the motor life without increasing the volume, weight and cost.

● Put forward the "diving seal theory" for the first time and give the solution.

Professor Wang believes that it is impossible for submersible motors to achieve "absolute sealing", which will lead to "moisture", "condensation" and "water inflow" for various reasons. When designing submersible motor, we should change our thinking. As long as the problem of "how to treat the water after the motor enters" is solved, the service life of the motor will be prolonged. Therefore, a "water storage chamber" and a "small drainage hole" are added, so that the water entering the motor is collected in the "water storage chamber" and then discharged from the body through the "small drainage hole". In this way, even if the motor is flooded, it will not cause a devastating threat to the safety of the motor and prolong the service life of the motor.

● Put forward the theory that submersible pump will explode for the first time, and give the solution.

Professor Wang pointed out that when using "ordinary submersible pump" to forcibly discharge sediment and mud, there is a hidden danger-motor overload produces high-temperature steam, which leads to motor explosion. It is pointed out that one of the reasons for the explosion accident of ordinary submersible pump itself is that there is a design defect-there is no pressure relief valve and there is a congenital safety hazard. Therefore, the structure of "safety valve" is added to the submersible motor, which fundamentally solves this problem.

● Put forward the "Abrasion Theory of Sand Pump Mouth Ring" for the first time, and give the solution.

Professor Wang believes that the mouth ring is the first worn part in the sand pump. The wear of the mouth ring will lead to the decrease of flow rate, the decrease of flow velocity in the drainage pipe, the retention of sediment in the pump cavity, and even the large sand particles in the pipeline will fall back into the pump cavity. The accumulation of a large number of sand grains in the pump cavity is the main reason for the rapid wear and scrap of the impeller (traditionally, the sand pump wear is the impeller wear, and the main part of the wear is the blade). According to this theory, alloy steel and cemented carbide materials are applied to the pump mouth ring for the first time to replace cast steel and cast iron, so that the life of the pump is doubled when discharging mud. This technology was also popularized and applied in MD horizontal pump in the mid-1990s, and its service life was doubled. Has produced a wide range of social benefits.

● Put forward the "big sand mass blocking theory" for the first time, and give the solution.

When the sand pump is working, the suction screen is easy to block, and eventually a large sand mass is formed. The flow rate gradually decreases from large to slow, and finally all the sand in the pipeline falls back. It only takes 20 ~ 30 minutes to polish all the blades of the impeller. This phenomenon is most likely to occur when pumping concentrated sediment slurry containing large particles of sand and gravel.

Professor Wang put forward several solutions: 1, the area of water suction filter screen increased abnormally; 2. Hydraulic agitator designed for sand mining; 3. Adopt double-layer large filter screen; 4. Add high-pressure water for flushing; 5. Add a gate valve at the outlet of the drain pipe. When the water is insufficient and the rustle in the pipeline stops, immediately close the gate valve and then open it again. This simple operation will also dissolve the big sand blocks, open the filter screen, and the water pumped out will return to normal immediately.

● The submersible pump conforming to Chua's two-phase flow theory was first introduced.

The efficiency of ordinary centrifugal pumps will decrease when discharging sediment slurry, because these pumps are designed according to the condition of "single-phase flow" of clear water, rather than "two-phase flow" of solid and liquid. At the beginning of the design, the influence of sediment in water on the pump efficiency was considered, and a new structure was adopted to improve the service life and pump efficiency. 199 1 year, at the new product appraisal meeting hosted by Tsinghua University pump experts, its design principle was proved to be just in line with "Chua's two-phase flow theory", and the inspection report proved that the product was efficient and energy-saving. Therefore, the first generation of sand-discharging submersible pump was promoted as a classic example of Chua's two-phase flow theory in China.
