Combined with the utilization of clean energy, the problem of anaerobic reactor running in winter is well solved, and a new process suitable for low-concentration urban sewage treatment at room temperature is developed, which is undertaken as a second-level sub-project of the national "863 Plan".
3) Research and optimization of operation conditions of large sewage treatment plants. 4) Application of molecular biology in biological treatment. By means of molecular biology, the quantitative distribution and functions of nitrifying bacteria, denitrifying bacteria, phosphorus accumulating bacteria and sugar accumulating bacteria in biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal system were analyzed. The bacteria that degrade toxic and harmful organic matter in anaerobic system were studied, separated and purified, and efficient dominant bacteria were obtained. It provides theoretical support for the mechanism of biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal, the development of new reactors and the operation of large sewage treatment plants from the molecular biology level.

1) Anaerobic biological treatment mechanism and new process development of toxic and harmful organic matter. In this paper, the anaerobic treatment of high concentration toxic and harmful organic compounds at room temperature and the role of sulfate-reducing bacteria in anaerobic process were deeply studied, and many papers were published and included by SCI and EI, which won the key project of National Natural Science Foundation "Synergy of in-situ generation of sulfate-reducing bacteria and reduction of nanoparticles".
2) Membrane separation theory, the manufacture and application of anti-pollution and efficient separation membrane.
