Liuzhou Institute of Technology was founded in 2002, formerly known as Lushan College of Guangxi University of Science and Technology. It is jointly organized by the Liuzhou Municipal Government and Guangxi University of Science and Technology. In April 2020, the college was converted into an independent full-time undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and was renamed "Liuzhou Institute of Technology".
On April 9, 2020, Lushan College of Guangxi University of Science and Technology agreed to transform Lushan College of Guangxi University of Science and Technology into Liuzhou Institute of Technology in accordance with the "Implementation Plan on Accelerating the Transformation of Independent Colleges" issued by the Ministry of Education.
This is the first case of Guangxi Independent College successfully transferring its name and changing its name. It is a public institution fully funded by state-owned assets. The campus covers an area of ??nearly 1,283.21 acres, with a total investment of more than 1.3 billion yuan and a total construction area of ??425,400 square meters.
The college has teaching and experimental training buildings with advanced supporting facilities. It has nearly 170 robot principle laboratories, automobile chassis structure training rooms, engineering cost comprehensive training rooms, and modern manufacturing laboratories.
