Liaoning Biomedical Materials R&D Center Co., Ltd. was established in October 2004. It is a demonstration base for the industrialization of coronary stent in China and a high-tech enterprise in Dalian. The company currently has more than 170 employees and a team of senior experts from many domestic and foreign scientific research institutes. The team led by General Manager Professor Dong Heyan took the lead in developing the first polymer-free micro-blind hole drug-loaded cardiac stent in the world. The product has China's first authorized invention patent in the field of drug stents, filling the domestic gap. It is the first Polymer-free drug-free cardiac stent and the first domestically produced paclitaxel-coated cardiac stent launched in China. It was recognized by China Medical News as one of the four major innovative technologies in China's medical device field in 2008, and in 2009 it was rated as Dalian's independent innovative product.
