IP is the abbreviation of Internet Protocol and is the network layer protocol in the TCP/IP system.
The purpose of designing IP is to improve the scalability of the network: first, to solve Internet problems and realize the interconnection of large-scale, heterogeneous networks; second, to separate the coupling between top-level network applications and underlying network technologies relationship to facilitate the independent development of both.
According to the end-to-end design principle, IP only provides a connectionless, unreliable, best-effort datagram transmission service to the host.
In order to adapt to heterogeneous networks, IP emphasizes adaptability, simplicity and operability, and makes certain sacrifices in reliability. IP does not guarantee the delivery time and reliability of packets. The transmitted packets may be lost, duplicated, delayed or out of order.

ip classification:
Among the four parts of the IP address, it can be divided into two parts. One part is the network number Network (used to identify network), and one part is the host number (identifying a specific host on a certain network).
Divide IP addresses into categories A, B, and C.
1. Class A address, the first group represents the network, and the next three groups represent the host.
2. Class B address, the first and second groups represent the network, and the last two groups represent the host.
3. Class C addresses, the first, second, and third groups represent the network, and the last group represents the host.
