Does a divisional application for a patent count as two patents? Do you pay separately?

The divided patent is an independent patent, and you have to pay separately.

The situation is that the patent only protects one theme. If there are too many contents protected in your original patent, when you apply for a case at first, and then review it, or when you feel that a patent can't protect all the contents you want to protect, in order to authorize the patent, you have to separate some contents as a divisional application. This is a post-compensation method to expand the scope of patent protection and improve the patent authorization rate.
